Ologbondiyan, Buhari, Zainab: PDP asks the president to sack minister

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has told President Muhammadu Buhari to sack his Finance Minister, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed for lying that the government did not print N60 billion distributed to states as federal allocation.

Zainab had denied that N60 billion was printed and shared as federal allocations to states in March.

The PDP asserted that the admission by CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, that the apex bank had been printing money at the bidding of government, has vindicated its earlier stand that the Buhari-led APC administration is characterized by concealment, deceit and falsehood.

The party, in a statement issued by Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary, flayed Ahmed for attempting to mislead Nigerians by denying the revelations by the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, that N60 billion was printed in March to support federal allocation to states.

It said Obaseki, as a financial expert, who is not known for flippancy, must be commended for his act of patriotism in exposing the dire economic situation our nation has been plunged under the Buhari administration.

“A situation where the Federal Government cannot articulate and implement policies favourable to wealth creation but resorting to borrowing and indiscriminate printing of currency notes, only goes to further confirm that the Buhari administration lacks the credibility and capacity to run a nation.

“Indeed, the admission by the CBN governor that “Nigeria is unfortunately in a very bad situation” further justifies our position that the Buhari-led APC administration has wrecked the economy of our nation.

“Our party is worried over the huge negative impact of indiscriminate printing of currency which has led to the unprecedented rise in inflation rate to 18.17% as disclosed by the Bureau of National Statistics (NBS) on Thursday,” it said.

According to PDP, this situation has led to further economic hardship with surging prices and fallen purchasing power throwing millions of families in distress and unable to afford the basic necessities of life.

The PDP called out President Buhari to come clean on the amount that has been printed so far by the CBN to finance the deficit caused by the financial mismanagement of his government as well as what the funds had been used for.

“Furthermore, for failing the full disclosure test, the PDP demands that the Minister of Finance should immediately be relieved of her position, while the President accepts responsibility for the indiscriminate printing of currency in our naira.

“Our party implores President Buhari to save our nation by allowing better hands to manage and salvage our economy before it is too late,” it said.

  1. This is unfortunate. If this was done in good fate, why lying about it? Same oçurrence under Abacha when money was been printed to be looted.
I hope this government will not start printing to rig election in 2023 and even the one they will loot at the end of their tenure.
Let God arise and let the enemy of this nation be consumed.
We need a new Nigeria with visionary leaders.
Enough in enough of all these.

    • On point!! You will wait for another 50 years to see ” A new Nigeria with visionary leaders”. Most of these young Nigerians coming behind are even worse than the present corrupt leaders.

  2. The Government of President Buhari and APC are full of liars. This is why God hates them:
    1. Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal faithfully are His delight (Prov. 12:22).
    2. A trustworthy witness will not lie, but a false witness utters lies (Prov. 14:5).
    3. A righteous man hates falsehood, but a wicked man acts disgustingly and shamefully (Prov. 13:5).
    4. The acquisition of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor, the pursuit of death (Prov. 21:6).
What is desirable in a man is his kindness, and it is better to be a poor man than a liar (Prov. 19:22).
    5. Ephraim surrounds Me with lies and the house of Israel with deceit; Judah is also unruly against God, even against the Holy One who is faithful (Hosea 11:12).
    6. An evildoer listens to wicked lips; a liar pays attention to a destructive tongue (Prov. 17:4).
    7. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken falsehood, your tongue mutters wickedness (Isa. 59:2-3).
    8. You destroy those who speak falsehood; the Lord abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit (Psalm 5:6).
A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who tells lies will perish (Prov. 19:9).
    9. Jude 1:8, “Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.”
