Folarin Balogun, who plays as a striker for Arsenal U-23, has finally agreed to a contract extension.
According to the Athletic, Balogun has agreed to terms with Arsenal and will sign a new four-year contract with the club ‘imminently’.
Balogun,19, has so far made five appearances for Arsenal’s senior side, scoring two goals in Europa League fixtures against Molde and Dundalk, respectively.
His current contract with Arsenal will expire in the summer of 2021.
He had delayed signing an extension while he sought assurances from Mikel Arteta over playing time.
Speaking about Balogun in January, Arteta told the Arsenal’s website: “His progression and the use of the time that he’s had with us has been incredible.
“He will keep having chances while he’s with us.”
Balogun had drawn interest from Championship side Brentford, clubs in Germany, while at one stage Liverpool were also believed to be weighing up a move for him.
