The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has urged Nigerians to divulge useful information that could assist in the rescue of abducted Zamfara schoolgirls.

The Force Headquarters said a search-and-rescue operation for the 300 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, had commenced.

Frank Mba, the Force Police Public Relations Officer, said in a statement that ground and aerial assets had been deployed to find the captives.

According to him, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, had ordered the immediate deployment of two operational surveillance helicopters to Zamfara.

He added that the deployment was reinforcement for personnel of Operation Puff Adder II earlier deployed in the state.

Mba said the move was to support the Police Command in Zamfara to combat banditry, kidnapping and other related crimes.

The police spokesman said Adamu condemned the barbaric and callous abduction of the female students.

Mba said the joint rescue operation was being carried out with the military, other security agencies, Zamfara State government and key stakeholders.

  1. Shame to this government. The government is good in molesting, arresting and killing innocent Nigerians but kidnappers, bandits, Boko Haram are left alone to operate without being molested.

  2. Mba’s request for the public to guide the police on the identity of the kidnappers is like begging the question. Haven’t Gumi been visiting them and even posting videos on interviews with the insurgents? Besides, didn’t the leader of the kidnappers claim in one of his interviews that those giving them information regarding where to strike and who to kidnap are living in nearby towns and villages? If the information already given by the leader of the kidnappers isn’t enough for the police to work on, then nothing ever will. Why not invite Gumi for additional information, if necessary?

  3. You are not serious. Who will expose them? Me? Don’t you know them? Ask sheikh Gumi. He knows their camp. So with the money Nigerian government spent in training you abroad you cannot locate the particular place they are in SAMBISA FORESTS? It doesn’t take you seconds to locate, arrest and torture someone in southern region of Nigeria.

What do you think?
