Aarom Ikuru kidnapped by gunmen
The Chairman of Andoni Area Traditional Rulers Council, HRM King Dr. Aaron .M. Ikuru was whisked away by gunmen from his residence on Sunday night.
Mr Maurice Ikuru, who is the monarch’s palace spokesperson, confirmed the incident.
“Yes, it’s true. It happened about 8:30 or 9pm,” Ikuru stated on Monday morning.
However, the gunmen also kidnapped some boat travellers, including a lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, who were returning to Port Harcourt from Andoni.
The spokesman of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident but was yet to get their identities.
“I can confirm that some persons who were coming back from Andoni were ambushed and kidnapped. Investigation is on-going to get the details,” Omoni stated.

Asking for return to military regime is a self defeatist option that should NEVER be considered at all by sensible people.
I am indeed in total agreement with your above suggestion. Many of us in diaspora have now come into conclusion that interchange between the military and civilian governments would be ideal for our current situation. All the so-called kidnappers and bandits including the dreaded bokoharam would quickly disappear during the military government. The present democratic government cannot achieve that. The earlier we have the military regime the better.
We were clamouring for Democracy, we fought for it and we got it, now we are suffering for what we thought was the best thing for us, truth must be told, Military Government is the very best for our country
Gbenga, you read my mind. I have been saying the same thing for more than ten years. These corrupt politicians have already destroy Nigeria. Can you imagine that there are many people in Nigeria that are begging Jonathan to come back. I’m looking and praying for the Jerry Rawlings of Nigeria.
