As a litigation attorney and business owner, Tina Odjaghian is no stranger to hard work.

After her family immigrated to the United States from Armenia in 2011, Tina’s parents both struggled, working in less ideal conditions to provide for their family.

As her father worked overseas, Tina and her brother would assist their mother in her flower shop, often working 16-hour days, along with weekends and holidays. Although these were challenging times, they also taught Tina the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity.

Tina confesses, “The biggest challenge when starting the business was juggling the many roles it takes to run my business, where I not only have to be the lawyer and litigate cases, but also run the business end of things.

”This meant being my own accountant at some points, the office manager, the IT department, the HR department, and making sure that I was covering all the bases as far as the business goes, all while killing it in the courtroom for my clients. However, this is also what keeps it interesting and you learn so much when starting your own business.”

Outside of her practice – Odjaghian Law Group – Tina still manages an ever-growing list of roles and responsibilities. She runs a nationally recognized boutique law firm that specializes in the complex mechanisms of brain injury, particularly those that occur in the workplace.

She is a wife, mom, self-proclaimed fashionista, and founder of a non-profit organization called Brain Society of California, which continues to provide resources to folks in the brain injury community and colleagues in the med-legal community.

Tina plans to launch a podcast that is both entertaining and educational, giving listeners a different perspective on litigation attorneys.

As this “Jill-of-all-trades”, Tina believes that having the right mindset is crucial for any new endeavor. “Mindset is everything when starting a business,” she explains.

“You can do whatever you think you can, and you cannot do what you think you cannot. Perception is just as important as reality and perceiving yourself to be successful when starting your own business is half the battle. It takes making a conscious effort to stay positive, so mindset is of utmost importance.”

Looking to the future, Tina hopes to continue to inspire other women to strive for success beyond expectations. Having shattered the glass ceiling for earning potential as a woman in a male-dominated profession, she believes that there is no limit to what can be achieved with hard work and dedication.

“Just do it,” she says. “There is never going to be a right time or perfect circumstances to get started. The sooner you start, the better. It takes time to hit your stride and become successful at whatever you decide to do. Execution is most important, and I would say execute and figure it out later. You will not have all the answers in the beginning, and you will learn as you go along.”
