Kaduna police arrest armed robbery suspect

The Police Command in Kaduna State says it has arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a berretta pistol.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Umar Muri, said this in a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammad Jalige, on Tuesday in Kaduna.

Umar said that the suspect was arrested at about 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 2, at No.16 Unguwan Bulus street, Sabon Tasha area of Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

Muri said that prior to his arrest, the suspect and his gang members have allegedly been terrorising the area and dispossessing innocent citizens of their valuables.

The commissioner said that the suspect was giving the police useful information that would lead to the arrest of his gang members currently at large.

He said that the police had intensified efforts, were to arrest all the suspects and make them to face the law.

Muri urged members of the various communities to cooperate with the police on matters of public safety and security as it is everybody’s business.
