Lawmaker provides free medical services to constituents

No fewer than 3,000 patients in Guyuk Local Government Area have benefited from a free medical outreach organised by Sen. Binos Yareo, representing Adamawa South senatorial zone.

Dr Talemoh Dah, Consultant gynaecologist and team leader, who disclosed this at the end of three days of the outreach in Guyuk, on Thursday, explained that 108 of the patients had different types of surgeries, including fibrosis, hernia, virginal prolapse, and caesarian section, while 255 people were treated for dental problems and 98 others for vision problems.

According to him, more than 500 people were provided with reading glasses, after they were tested, and 2,000 patients underwent various laboratory tests.

In his remarks at the occasion, Sen. Yareo said that his priority was to provide good healthcare for the less privileged, to enable them go about their daily activities successfully.

“The intended objectives have been achieved on helping people that otherwise could not get any help, as surgeries have been done. People with various sicknesses have been attended to and prescribed and issued eyeglasses free of charge.

“Our plan is to go round all the nine local government areas of the constituency, now we have done three; Demsa, Ganye and now we just finished Guyuk”, he said

The lawmaker said but for COVID-19 challenges, two other local council areas would have been served before the end of 2020.

Mr Kassah Shalom, the Council Chairman, who was represented by Mr Afraimu Dankali, lauded the Senator for his contributions to the peoples’ health, urging other political office holders and wealthy individuals to emulate the senator, by touching the lives of the less privileged.

A cross-section of the beneficiaries also thanked the lawmaker for the gesture.
