Critic, Femi Fani-Kayode has attacked Pastor Tunde Bakare over his romance with the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

He said Bakare has desecrated the pulpit by praising Tinubu to the highest heaven, saying “shame on him.”

Bakare had attacked rancorous Yoruba elders who are bent on destroying Tinubu ahead of the 2023 presidency, saying they were envious of his achievement.

The fiery preacher said “I have a word for those Yoruba rancorous elements, noisemakers who have not achieved as much as Asiwaju Tinubu has achieved, but are always querying and worrying themselves about his ancestry.

“Those who are envious of Mr. Tinubu and those who desire to take his power slot should stop their useless talk about him, and busy themselves with what can add value to society”.

Reacting, Fani-Kayode wondered how Bakare who once said Tinubu would give account for all his deeds, would suddenly turn around to praise the same man he once denigrated.

According to him, “I listened to Bakare’s words, spoken from the sanctity of his pulpit, three times and I was astounded. I asked myself what could have possibly made him flip in such an unceremonious, undignified and inglorious manner?

“I regarded his new-found and newly-cultivated grovelling and sycophantic assertions about Tinubu as being not only self-serving, arrogant, pitiful and condescending but also a desecration of the pulpit”.

“I asked myself over and over again whether this was the same man saying one thing at the end of 2019 and saying the opposite at the end of 2020?”

Fani-Kayode said it was Tinubu who forced Buhari on the nation and the people of the Southwest in 2015, saying he should share in the blame of the downturn of the Buhari administration.

He said for Bakare to support Tinubu, it meant a lot and warned him not to drag the Yoruba people into his new found love.

“However on this Tinubu matter he has not done justice to himself and he has indulged in an inexcusable faux pas!
I am constrained to ask, why this sudden u-turn on Jagaban? Is there something he knows today that he did not know one year ago? If so can he possibly share it with us so that we can possibly consider doing a volte face too? Or is that they have something on him?” He asked.

“The ‘sakabular’ pastor is encouraging the young ones to loot, steal, engage in fraudulent acts, sell drugs, do passport racketeering in their youth as these will not count against them in the future. Rubbish from the pulpit. Shame on him,” he added.

  1. Fani Kayode should not be wasting his precious time discussing Bakare as we all know that Tunde Bakare is a torn coat politician wearing the cover of a pastor. Was he ( Bakare) not one of the paid ones who matched against Jonathan’s government. What has he done to the present ditch ( government) we find ourselves in where the whole country is wailing and crying.

  2. If anything, Is FFK the right man we should be listening to? The headline is enough for me to know what the big mouthed FFK will talk about. Shior!

  3. FFK is ranting in nonsense against Bakare or Tinubu. Pastor Bakare preaches the truth against Nigerian leaders especially President Buhari, whom he once contested with as Buhari’s vice and lost. Bakare also one time or the other preached against Tinubu and other Nigerian leaders when they acted against the will of the people. The fact that Pastor Bakare preached against those after Tinubu does not mean he exempted Tinubu from misdeeds . No one is an angel and Tinubu is a human being like every other political leaders in Nigeria. Tinubu’s actions and inaction in political terrain in Nigeria does not mean he is worst leaders in Nigeria. Tinubu also has the right to contest as Nigerian President and it is left for APC leadership and Nigerian voters to accept or reject him at the polls. But he needs support and cooperation of his Southwest people who has voting power to either accept or reject him based on his perceived bad precedents in Lagos especially on endSARS victims or his genuine commitments to his people.

  4. “The ‘sakabular’ pastor is encouraging the young ones to loot, steal, engage in fraudulent acts, sell drugs, do passport racketeering in their youth as these will not count against them in the future. Rubbish from the pulpit. Shame on him,” he added.

Imagine the above statement coming from a drug addict like Fani-Kayode. What a shame to a junkey!

  5. FFK must hate Tinubu for exposing him to his latest ‘catch’ – the fair lady from Egypt – who quickly got wise to his murderous insanity and fled for dear life.
    Why won’t he be bitter?
