Adamawa State Government has proposed to spend N6.472 billion for its health sector in 2021 fiscal year.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri disclosed this on Monday during the presentation of the proposed 2021 budget at the state House of Assembly.

He noted that he has serious concern to develop the health sector.

“Former Psychiatric unit of the Specialist Hospital has been upgraded to serve as an Infectious Diseases Centre in the state,’’ he said.

He added that the centre was the first of its kind in the Northeast region of the country and the facility would be used to manage COVID-19 patients.

Fintiri stated that his administration intends to establish the centre in each of the three senatorial zones in the state.
