Governor Adegboyega Oyetola showered praises on the leadership and members of the State’s 7th House of Assembly on their anniversary today.
The governor in a statement he authored on Monday, said the lawmakers have delivered perfectly.
He said: “On behalf of the Govt. & the good people of Osun, I congratulate the leadership & members of the State’s 7th House of Assembly on their one-year anniversary. We admire the achievements, people-centred & devt(development). focused legislation the House has delivered in the last one year.
“The Assembly has in the last 1 year left no one in doubt about its focus & vision of rendering selfless & stellar service to the people. We’ve enjoyed a robust relationship with the House, which has contributed to the delivery of quality & equitable services to the people of Osun.
“In the nation’s young democracy where the relationship btw the Executive & the legislature has been frosty, to say the least at the best of times, I am happy to report that our Assembly exhibited uncommon understanding & support in the face of excruciating economic challenges.
“I appreciate the lawmakers for their understanding during these hard times & their contributions to the State’s fight against Coronavirus, particularly through the distribution of palliatives to their constituents, irrespective of political differences.”
The governor, however, commended Speaker Owoeye and principal officers for their support of his administration.
He said: “I commend the leadership prowess of Speaker Owoeye & other Principal Officers of the House for their support, forthrightness, commitment & patriotism. The huge support we’ve enjoyed in the past 1 year has seen us achieved modest milestones despite sore economic downturn.”
