Afghanistan’s COVID-19 cases reached 20,345 after 791 new cases were reported, the country’s Ministry of Public Health confirmed on Sunday.
“A total of 1,427 tests were conducted within the past 24 hours, out of which 791 tests were confirmed to be COVID-19 positive,” the ministry said in a statement.
Thirty COVID patients died during the period, taking the number of fatalities to 357 since the outbreak of the pandemic in Afghanistan.
A total of 45 people recovered since early Saturday, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 1,875.
The country has conducted 47,327 tests since the start of the pandemic in February.
