Representatives of the management of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), on Monday told the family of the slain Miss Vera Omozuwa that she was already showing promise in her studies.
The delegation visited with the family to commiserate with them on the death of their daughter.
Omozuwa, a 22-year-old student, was raped by unidentified men on May 27 and died few days later in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.
She was in the 100 level class.
The Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Patrick Igbinaduwa, who led the team described her murder as unfortunate and evil.
He called on relevant authorities to step in and fish out the killers.
“The delegation conveyed the condolence message of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lilian Salami.
“It also conveyed her strong condemnation of the evil acts of rape and murder perpetrated against the late student”, Igbinaduwa said in a statement after the visit.
