Nigerian gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi has called out Nigerian singer Simi after she spoke against racism and violence on Blacks while she once condemned homosexuality.

Simi on her Twitter page had condemned the brutal killing of an African American man named George Floyd by police in Minneapolis USA after a cop knelt on his neck.

The ‘Duduke’ singer wrote; “And we have our own people killing us in the streets and it has become so normal now. It’s almost more abhorrent. As fucked as it is, it is one thing for people to be intimidated by and hate you for being different, but how do you not value someone the exact same as you?”

Reacting to this, Bisi Alimi called her a hypocrite referencing how she on her Youtube series: Stoopid Sessions, she once called homosexuality, “abnormal.”

He wrote; “There is a name you call the #Nigeria middle/upper class elites that sympathise with abroad blackness but promote local homophobic violence against their own #LGBT; hypocrites. The @SympLySimi of this world. You are a disgrace.”

In January this year, Bisi Alimi shared a piece of advice to all gay Nigerians to find means to escape from the country that ” is designed to kill you and your dreams!”

The Berlin-based university lecturer shared a post which reads thus; ”Dear Nigerian LGBTQ Individuals, if you can find your way out of Nigeria please do it. To be honest, start investing in getting out of that jungle. Your future matters.”
