No Presidential broadcast planned for today – Presidency

COVID-19: Buhari’s 2nd nationwide broadcast

The Presidency has debunked reports that President Muhammadu Buhari would be addressing the nation today to give updates on the COVID-19 pandemic.

The National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Aliyu Sani, had disclosed that Buhari will speak to Nigerians while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

However, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, via his verified Twitter handle Monday said no presidential broadcast was planned for today.

He added that whatever update was available would be passed on by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) during its usual briefings.

“No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps”, the tweet read.

  • What a handicapped government. No direction, no purpose, no cohesion. No commitment. Just aimless. What a waste of political space.

It's possible his handlers were unable to properly edit the pre recorded speech, that is inherently strewn with errors, hence the cancellation.

With this clueless and certificateless President in power, Nigeria has come to a dead end.

What a government without agenda. Their only economy blueprint is borrowing and taking up loans they have no plans to pay back.

How could they possibly lay claim to bringing infrastructural developments? Anybody can borrow billions of dollars for infrastructural developments, what matters is did you pay back or did you leave the future generations with a huge debt profile that could leave them at the mercy of the Chinese creditors.

What a failed government. What a government without vision and purpose. What a debt owing government.

What a situation. I take a stroll. Nonsense.
