Chief Spokesman, Roberto Velasco tests positive for coronavirus (covid-19)

Roberto Velasco, the chief spokesman for Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard has tested positive for the coronavirus.

This is coming a few days after an official in the president’s office died of the disease, bringing the pandemic closer to the inner circle of government.

The spokesman wrote on Twitter; “I report that I tested positive for Covid-19 today. I will stay at home, remotely coordinating the tasks in my charge.”

Mexico has 38,324 confirmed coronavirus cases with 17,781 recoveries and 3,926 deaths.
