Governor Makinde: appoints adviser on infrastructure

The Oyo State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Akinola Ojo, said cash donations to the State COVID-19 Endowment Fund have reached N334 million.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday in Ibadan, by Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Seyi Makinde.

The statement quoted the commissioner as saying that the value of Health-related donations was put at N261 million, while Agricultural products were put at N109 million.

“The donations in cash and kind, therefore, stand at N704 million as of May 1.

“The governor expressed appreciation to everyone who has contributed in one way or the other in supporting the state at this period,” Ojo stated.

Gov. Makinde had on April 27 declared that 90,000 households identified as the poorest of the poor would get the state government’s palliatives.

He also made it clear that 30,000 vulnerable households would benefit from the palliatives.

It is expected that the food items donated to the state government would be distributed to the already identified 120,000 households across the state in the coming week.
