Alhaji Sharafadeen Alli, a former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, has described the late Chief Richard Akinjide as a success story for younger generations.

This is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan.

The former Attorney General of the Federation died on Tuesday morning at 88.

Alli, who is also the Ekefa Balogun of Ibadanland, said that the late two-time minister was also a role model for younger generations and worthy of emulation in many ways.

“As an Ibadan man, his name is still to be mentioned as one of the role models and success stories for the younger generation. He achieved many greats in his life.

“For me, he was a role model for the generations after him. In the legal profession, he rose to the peak as an Attorney General of Nigeria.

“In politics, he was involved from pre-independence to the top echelon of the ruling National Party of Nigeria (NPN) in the second republic.

He said that Akinjide, as a family man, raised children who were already flying the flag of the family.

Alli said that among the children raised was the iconic Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, a lawyer and former Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory.

The Ibadan Chief described the late Akinjide as a successful man who lived a long and fulfilled life, praying that his soul rests in peace.
