The Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Kate Abiri, has ordered the release of five inmates and granted bail to three detainees during a Jail Delivery Exercise at the Medium Security Custodian Centre, Nigerian Correctional Service, Okaka in Yenagoa.

She urged the Judges in State to expedite appropriate action for the speedy dispensation of Criminal matters, especially for those awaiting trial so that the innocent will not languish in jail.

The State Chief Judge Justice Abiri ordered that the bail conditions of some inmates be reviewed.

The State Chief Judge, gave the order during a Jail Delivery Exercise at the Medium Security Custodian Centre, Nigerian Correctional Service, Okaka in Yenagoa, noting that the Exercise was aimed at decongesting the centres.
