Saudi Arabia has imposed a partial lockdown on the city of Medina, the Ministry of Interior has announced.

The measure is part of efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The neighbourhoods affected are: Ash-Shuraybat city, Qurban, al-Jumaa, Banidhafar, some areas of al-Iskan, and Bani Khidrah.

The ministry said movement will be restricted in the locked down parts of the city.

All citizens and residents must remain at home throughout the day.
