A network of volunteers under the auspices of Project LOUD (Lagos Of Our Dreams) has commenced distribution of food aid to all those in need during the coronavirus lockdown.

Project LOUD, acting through CovidAid, distributed food items to residents of some streets in Surulere area of Lagos to cushion the effect of the lockdown.

Explaining how people can benefit, Director General of Project LOUD, Niyi Gbodimowo said anybody can benefit as long as they register via online, adding that the initiative was borne out of the desire of public-spirited individuals to assist the needy at this critical point in time.

According to him, “CovidAid uses a safe distribution model that avoids crowd buildup. Beneficiaries register via USSD code or online and we distribute the food aid we receive from our donors to trained local volunteers who wear Personal Protective Equipment for safety.
