Turkey on Monday recorded an increase in the number of coronavirus infection cases after 3,135 tested positive to the virus.

According to Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, the country now has 27,069 COVID-19 confirmed cases.

He said; “This is an increase of 3,135 new cases in 24 hours, bringing the total number to 27,069. As a result of complications from Covid-19, the disease caused by the virus, 73 people died overnight, while the country’s total death toll rose to 574.

“In the same period, the number of people officially recovered from Covid-19 rose from 786 to 1,042, Koca said.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Erdogan, announced an extensive curfew for people under 20 years of age.

Turkey reported its first case of coronavirus on March 11, and since then 181,000 tests had been carried out in the country, with a population of 83 million.
