Boris Johnson admitted to hospital

The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has been admitted to hospital over coronavirus infection.

The admission at St. Thomas on Sunday came ten days after he tested positive for the virus and followed the advice of his doctor.

In hospital, Johnson is expected to have further tests.

His hospitalisation coincided with the TV broadcast by Queen Elizabeth, in which she urged Britons to stay firm against the virus.

A Downing Street spokesperson said: “This is a precautionary step.

Mr Johnson has been isolating inside No 11 Downing Street since it was first revealed that he had COVID-19 ten days ago.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab will temporarily carry out the functions of Prime Minister, should Johnson remain in hospital.–Royal Central
