Coronavirus death toll in the UK recorded its biggest spike yet on Saturday, moving up by 708 to 4,353.
Confirmed positive cases rose from 38,168 to 41,903, with 3,735 cases added.
The new figures were released today by the Department of Health.
There is a silver lining though. New cases announced today are lower than yesterday’s 4,450.
The UK death toll overtook China’s on Friday after 684 more people died.
