Nigerian military commanders in Sokoto and Plateau states have been ordered to deploy soldiers to reinforce police efforts.
Chief of army staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai ordered the officers to help the police in apprehending bandits.
Buratai followed the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to a statement by SSA Media, Garba Shehu, Buhari directed the army to join the Police in flushing out bandits.
The bandits hibernating in forests staged recent attacks.
They killed 22 people in Sokoto State and 10 people in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau.
Buhari commiserated with the governments and people of the two states.
He assured Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto of the federal government’s support in bringing an end to the attacks.
He gave a similar assurance to Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau.
