In order to provide succour to the underprivileged from the hardship that may be caused by the lockdown of Ogun State as a result of coronavirus, a member of the House of Representatives, Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi Federal Constituency, Hon. Olumide Osoba has concluded plans to provide monetary succour to the aged and indigent persons in his constituency.
This was stated in a statement issued by Hon. Osoba on Thursday which was made available to newsmen in Abeokuta
According to him, there would soon be a cash transfer relief which would be done based on the statistics of those who fall into the target population within the federal constituency.
The statement indicated that the mode of distribution would not follow the physical handing out of relief materials due to the need to adhere to health advisory on social distancing and logistics challenges at the moment.
He noted that in view of the logistics challenges and the constraints of gathering recipients in a location, monetary succour would be done through bank transfers to the target populace.
“Extensive data gathered overtime will be used to reach people without specifically targeting only political associates or Party members only as the member represents all in the constituency.
“The recipients would be picked from all wards and rural areas and testimonials would soon be collected evidencing collection of the relief package”
Osoba maintained that this will give him the opportunity to identify with the people of his constituency.
He urged them to support the government, as well as, adhere to the rules of hygiene and social distancing in order to quickly stave off the pandemic.
He lawmaker reiterated his commitment to always provide qualitative and responsive leadership to the people by always sharing in their pains especially at a time like this.
