Fegalo Nsuke, MOSOP President
The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has condemned the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) for the organisation’s insensitivity to the serious challenge faced by the Ogoni people and the entire Niger Delta area in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
President of MOSOP, Fegalo Nsuke, sad HYPREP has not taken any steps to help society cope with the pandemic despite the serious threat to the life of the people it should primarily be concerned about.
Nsuke expressed strong disappointment in HYPREP saying as an intervention agency noting that it is regrettable that despite the concerns raised by the world over, not a single face mask or enlightenment campaign has been embarked upon by HYPREP.
The MOSOP president further said HYPREP should have been very concerned with the safety of the people but unfortunately, HYPREP is riddled with incompetence and managed by people who do not care about society but has been primarily concerned with looting the organisation.
Insisting that HYPREP is corrupt and playing Shell’s card, the MOSOP president said nothing good can come out of HYPREP under its present management.
The MOSOP president commended individuals and organisations who have made donations to help fight the pandemic and urged every citizen to adhere to every precaution especially as recommended by the WHO to bring the pandemic under control.
