A Professor of Geophysics at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has debunked the explanation given by Ondo Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and the police for the deafening blast experienced early on Saturday near Akure.
Professor Adekunle Abraham Adepelumi, after leading a research team to the site said emphatically it was caused by a meteorite.
The P.M.News first reported that the blast, which left a crater on its trail, and destroyed several buildings, was caused by a meteorite.

Governor Akeredolu at the scene of the Akure explosion on Saturday. He said it was caused by a vehicle carrying explosives
However, Governor Akeredolu and the Police Commissioner Undie Adie attributed the blast to an exploded truck carrying dynamites for a quarry based in Edo state.
Akeredolu even said the truck sank with the impact of the blast.
Professor Adepelumi’s team has given a scientific explanation about what really happened.
The research group did a detailed analysis of the explosion site.
Here is the summary of the report:
” My research group carried out a detailed analysis of the impact site. A circular impact crater with 21m diameter and 7.8m depth was found which suggest a natural phenomenon.
“Water was found oozing out from the edges of the crater.
“The field evidence point to a conclusion that A METEORIC FROM AN ASTEROID BELT THAT TRAVELS AT A GREAT SPEED FROM SPACE IMPACTED THE LOCATION AT AN ANGLE OF 43 degrees created an ejecta at South-Western part.
“A preliminary insitu vibration, noise, seismicity, water analysis, radioactivity studies, rock and soil investigation were carried out.
“Our findings suggest that the impact of the blasting covers 1 km radius of the surroundings of the crater.
“No evidence of fire or burning of anything was found within the vicinity. No evidence of radioactivity radiation was found within the crater and immediate vicinity.
“No evidence of buried vehicle, buried ordinance or IED was found. However, crack opening that vary in thickness from 3mm to 4metres occurs on the wall of most of the buildings but not at the base of the buildings.
“Also, foreign rocks and strange metallic objects were found within the crater. Most of the destruction occurs on top and roof/ceilings of the buildings.”

This was an intentionally directed warning to those on the African continent. The location relative to the South Africa Nuclear Power Plant is your radius of destruction. The Power Plant in SA is going to break from the Fukushima Asteroid Repair Mechanism and will get hammered from every direction from repairs in India and South America. All Nuke Plants will be buried with these Asteroid Repair Mechanisms. It’s in the crop circle message!
We should. All pray and dont stop praying.
Question: Where is the object, whatever it is?
Major asteroid coming in the days ahead. That is why they are quarantine the whole planet, not because of a virus.
People need to wake up to what’s really happening out there..
I totally agree with you. It’s going to be massive. Likely in Oct to Nov 2020. This is coming from the Pleiades. The location in space were routinely at that time these asteroids have entered Earth’s atmosphere. No one wants to talk about it.
Don’t worry, there are no big asteroid collisions that are being covered up with the pandemic.
There is no way for every government in the world to silence every single astronomer in the world, especially considering the fact that most astronomers don’t work for NASA, and that some even don’t work for any space agencies at all. If NASA is showing incorrect data about a potentially hazardous asteroid, they will notice and become suspicious. In reality, no astronomers has ever noticed anything strange with the data of every asteroid known so far.
Quickly, while there is still time, go and tell your boss exactly what you think of him/her.
INITIALLY, THE GOVERNOR SAID IT WAS A METEORITE. I agree with the professor because how come they have not excavated the vehicle from the ruin. A vehicle exploding would explode outwards and not bury itself. It is either a rocket but my best bet is that it is a meteorite.
Let everything remain a 50 – 50 hypothetical inconclusive theory until final report is out from the investigating authorities.
If it was an extra terrestrial body, at least, there ought to be fragments. But then, we don’t have any yet.
very interesting research and development
How can you say the Governor lied when he is only a trained lawyer and did not have a clue on what caused the explosion but had to rely on what security agencies told him. He could have been patient to get wider scientific/logical opinions before coming to conclusion that the blast was from a truck loaded with explosives. And the Prof did not go there to disprove the statement of the governor. He simply went there to provide factual opinion based on observation of the incident site.
Good point that they found tiny pieces of metal. Meteors are composed of rock and metals. And the metal composition if more than one type will have different densities if they exist in different forms.
Many thanks to Gani Adams for his thoughtfulness and his asking that the recent blasts in the South Western region be investigated. However, I can assure him that it will never be investigated because the government is behind it all.
The findings of my own investigation suggests that the government is surreptitiously implementating a clandestine policy to remove all offensive and defensive military equipment from that region.
Sometimes it is necessary for us to think outside the box in order to arrive at reality. Even before the country’s civil war the Eastern Region was only equipped with small arms. The fact that it exploded near the airport suggests that there was a military aircraft on standby there and that when the bomb was found to be distressed the only option was to detonate it asap.
