A property consultant and politician, David Ibitayo Lanlege, has called on people of Kogi State to cooperate with the government as it commences total lockdown of activities from Saturday as part of efforts to defeat the ravaging Coronavirus.

Lanlege made the call in a statement made available to journalists in Lokoja today.

Lanlege who is also aspiring to contest for the Chairmanship of Yagba West Local Government Area in the forthcoming council polls commended Governor Bello for the initiatives being put in place to combat the virus.

He noted that a time like this requires all hands to be on deck and urged all citizens to pay attention to personal hygiene in addition to following the guidelines as given by the relevant authorities.

“This is an unusual situation. We must all join hands to fight the pandemic. The measures may look harsh, but they are temporary if we follow them. May God help us with all that is needed to overcome the virus.

Lanlege, however, called on governments at all levels and the well to do in the society to come to the aid of the poor through social palliatives and other interventions that can help them live well.
