Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Segun Dawodu has called for calm among the youth population in the State in the face of the coronavirus pandemic affecting the citizens including the youth.

He said that the State Government is aware that various preventive measures being rolled out to curb the spread of the deadly CoronaVirus may have affected the youth population especially those who rely on daily earnings for livelihood.

According to the Commissioner, the present situation around the State calls for the cooperation and involvement of everyone especially the youth so that peace can continue to reign.

He said “we appeal to every youth to adhere to the instructions being given regarding this coronavirus. The lives of our youths are precious to us and we are doing everything possible as a state government to ensure the safety of everyone.

“We need the youth to help the government through total compliance. We need the youth to sacrifice immediate pleasure in order to save the nation from a bigger calamity.”

He urged the youth to keep the spirit of Lagos alive by being strong even in the face of difficulties and adversities, adding that efforts are being made to on the part of the government to restore normalcy to the State.

Dawodu assured the youth that the state government have them in mind and is determined to continually implement projects that would make life more meaningful to them, emphasizing that it is when the youths are alive that all the lofty plans of government can achieve the intended purpose.
