Coronavirus workers in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso reported 32 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the total to 146, the highest in West Africa.

Burkina Faso reported its first confirmed COVID-19 case on March 9

Since then, the landlocked country has been badly hit by the virus.

Five ministers tested positive.

They are the Ministers of education, territorial administration, foreign, mining and trade.

Andrew Young, the U.S. ambassador also tested positive on 22 March.

Other West African countries affected by coronavirus are Senegal(99), Nigeria(51 cases), Ghana(68), Cameroon(75), Ivory Coast(80), Togo(23) and Equatorial Guinea(9).

Niger has seven cases, Benin 6, Cape Verde 4, Gambia, Chad, Liberia have three cases each.
