Manolo Gabbiadini who plays for Sampdoria has tested positive to the deadly coronavirus (COVID 19).
This was confirmed on Thursday by the Italian Serie A club.
An official statement on the club website said: “UC Sampdoria informs that the player Manolo Gabbiadini has tested positive for Coronavirus-COVID-19, has some fever lines, but is doing well. The company is currently activating all the isolation procedures required by law.”
The Sampdoria striker who formerly played for Southampton becomes the second player in Serie A after Juventus defender Daniele Rugani was diagnosed with the virus on Wednesday.
Already, the Juventus squad, including Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been quarantined.
