Sanusi dethroned on orders of President Buhari – Kwankwaso

Kwankwaso: alleges that President Buhari ordered the removal of Muhammadu Sanusi 11 as Emir of Kano

Former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has said Muhammadu Sanusi 11 was dethroned as Emir of Kano based on the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kwankwaso, a former presidential aspirant on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, made the statement on the BBC Hausa Service on Wednesday morning.

Kwankwaso stated that “the governor of Kano himself has been saying that he has been given the order to remove Sanusi.”

The Presidency has not spoken on the sack of Sanusi since the former Emir of Kano was deposed by the Kano State Government on Monday.

President Buhari had also earlier stated that he will not interfere in the rift between the Emir and his State Government.

Buhari noted that he will be overstepping his bounds, constitutionally, if he gets involved in the dispute between the monarch and Ganduje but Kwankwaso on Wednesday alleged that the President has been intervening in the affairs of Kano State.

“President Buhari is getting involved in the affairs of Kano state,” Kwankwaso said.

BBC, however, noted that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso did not provide any evidence to back his claim of the involvement of the President in the removal of the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria as Emir.

Kwankwaso, under whose tenure Sanusi was installed as the Emir in 2014, also claimed in the BBC interview that the people of Kano were saddened by the deposition of the Emir.

He described Muhammadu Sanusi as an “honorable king and a man of the world.”

  • Kaankwaso is a bitter loser. Buhari we know does not get involved in petty politics. What has Sanusi stopped Buhari or will stop him again?
Your accusations is childish. Buhari is done with politics. He has not intervened in and judicial case even when he is involved. He is a neutral man and fair to everybody.
Look for other reason for Sanusi's downfall.

Also advise him to learn humility which is grossly lacking in him. No one is too old to learn

  • Kwankwanso is an irritation, the appointment given to Sanusi by El Rufai, a very close confidant of president Buhari makes nonsense of Kwankwanso's claim

  • I've always known this to be true, it was the divisive and chaotic Buhari who ordered the removal of Sanusi.

Peace loving and humane leaders unite the citizens and always crave for peace but not this President that thrives on crisis, chaos, mayhem, carnage, catastrophe, bickering and squabbles.

Since Buhari came to power, Nigerian nation has not known peace. It's killing here, butchering there by his killer Fulani herdsmen, yet no arrests, no prosecution. Just killings and butchering of Nigerians.

Such a wicked and divisive figure. Sanusi's offence is his continual criticism of Buhari's cluelessness, injustices, malfeasance and lack of focus and robust leadership.

It's unfathomable that this inept and inefficient president ordered the banishment of a Nigerian in this 21st century. Apparently, he is still living in the medieval times.

What a backward and primitive country under Buhari's control. What a failed ruler. What a sadistic, tyrannical maximum ruler.

What a situation. I take a stroll. Nonsense.
