Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League campaign came to an end on Tuesday night as they were well beaten in the last 16 by RB Leipzig a club formed 10 years ago.

Most pundits expected Jose Mourinho’s effect to do the magic for Tottenham but everything looked out of Tottenham’s control from the first leg and the second leg made it even worse for a club who played in the Final last season.

RB Leipzig led 1-0 from the first leg in London and Marcel Sabitzer’s double at the Red Bull Arena on Tuesday night put Leipzig in control.

Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris should have done better for both goals – getting a hand to both the Leipzig captain’s 20-yard shot and near-post header but he was well exposed by his team as well.

However, when everyone thought they had seen enough of a poor display by Jose Mourinho’s team, Emil Forsberg stepped up from the bench and scored with his first touch to give Leipzig a 4-0 aggregate win.
