Vietnam’s Ministry of Health reported a new case of COVID-19 infection in the capital of Hanoi on Sunday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 21, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The 61-year-old male patient, who is the fourth confirmed case in the Vietnamese capital, was on the same flight with an earlier confirmed female, the news agency reported.

The female patient, reported by the health ministry on Friday, has traveled to Europe before taking the flight back to Vietnam.

The health ministry reported three new confirmed cases on Saturday, including two people who had close contacts with the female patient and a man who has traveled to Daegu, South Korea.

A total of 16 out of the 21 confirmed cases in Vietnam have been discharged from hospital and the country now has 101 suspected cases, according to the ministry.  (Xinhua/NAN)
