The Afghan Interior Ministry on Sunday said five drug traffickers have been arrested.
According to the ministry, Counter-Narcotics Police of Afghanistan (CNPA) in coordination with Afghan National Police arrested two men driving a vehicle in Nangarhar’s Muhmand Dara district on Saturday after receiving a report that the men were transporting a batch of drugs.
The statement said CNPA seized 17 kg of heroin and 2.5 kg of methamphetamine and confiscated the vehicle.
Three suspects, it said, were arrested and some amounts of drugs seized in provincial capital Jalalabad city, adding that further investigation was underway.
