Prof. Yemi Osinbajo
Twitter users across the world, especially in Nigeria, since Thursday have been trending the hashtag, #OsinbajoTheFixer, on social media to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari’s deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
By noon Friday there were already over 10,000 tweets on #OsinbajoTheFixer. A day before, there were over 3,000 tweets on #OsinbajoThrowback as well.
Since the re-election of the Buhari/Osinbajo ticket last year, the President himself and then other prominent Nigerians have been praising Prof Osinbajo for one thing or the other.
Likewise, Twitter users have been showering encomiums on the former university lecturer, hailing his leadership style, his timely interventions and the many assignments the President gave his loyal VP, alongside many social initiatives he has either introduced or promoted.
Some of these include the N-Power, MarketMoni, TraderMoni, Homegrown School Feeding, MSMEs Clinics, Cash Transfer, GEEP, supervising many other intervention programmes like the Niger-Delta intervention, and the unveiling of 59 strategies for economic recovery in Nigeria.
It was also revealed that the Vice President chairs over twenty councils and committees in which he has performed brilliantly. They include: National Economic Council (NEC), Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) among others.
According to Jay Tise, VP Osinbajo has worked in many capacities and has always thrived. “As Attorney General (State) – he revolutionized the judiciary. As Acting President – he proved he was capable with stellar records. As Vice President – he is the most active. As a leader – he is the most relatable, hardworking and humble. #OsinbajoTheFixer,” she wrote.
Lady Yinka focused on his role as acting President and the impact he made. “In 2017, the FG was alerted of a famine which could cause deaths in thousands in the North East especially within the IDP,” @ladyyinxx said.
She added that “As acting President, HE Osinbajo swiftly intervened by bringing in the appropriate private sector to fast track & avert the impending doom”. #OsinbajoTheFixer
Tracy Chelsea shared a similar narrated. “Apapa was total chaos. Going and coming was hellish if not impossible. Apapa is a big business hub for #Nigeria and we needed a swift solution to the problem….But there’s only one man for the job, he is #OsinbajoTheFixer. Going through Apapa now will give you joy”.
According to Braveface Funkie Osinbajo’s role in Amotekun resolution was timely. “Many wouldn’t notice – it was a presidential figure that started its background work of meeting traditional rulers and re-integrating local security stakeholders and it was birthed. The thing jammed, on whose table was it cleared?
Olaniyan Mayowa wrote this about the Vice President. “#OsinbajoTheFixer made it possible for National Social Investment Programmes to become APC’s pride today. The largest social safety net is the biggest in Africa,” he said.
Omobola Janet shares the same thought. “While serving as Commissioner for Justice in Lagos state, he addressed access to justice for the poor by establishing appropriate institutions which in are the Office of the Public Defender and the Citizens Mediation Centre.

Long Live My Vice President. Happy birthday!
HE. ‘Yemi Osinbajo, is an enigma, real bred but brilliant political jugarnut, dedicated and result-oriented VP, Nigeria has ever produced.
His excellent performance, as Acting President, especially in his uncommon ability to intervene and bring about the current peace being enjoy in the Niger Delta region, quick fix of IDP’s challenges in the North East, the wonderful manner, he anchored the FGN’s Social Investment Schemes, sacked the DG of DSS (after the augly invasion of the National Assembly) etc; is unparalleled, in the annal of Nigeria’s political history.
The achievements of our amiable VP Osinbajo, has equally put to rest, the usual erroneous notion, that, VP like Deputy Governors are mere spare tyres to be used and dumped by their principals, that is, the President and/or State Governors respectively.
