The motion was also supported by the whole House.

Sherif thereafter moved the motion for the third reading of the bill and this was seconded by Sola Adams.

The clerk of the House, Mr Deji Adeyemo, read the bill for the third time while the Speaker, Mr Olakunle Oluomo, ordered that a clean copy of the bill be forwarded to Gov. Dapo Abiodun for his assent.

The lawmakers had during the second reading of the bill on Feb. 20 stated that the bill was to assist in maintaining law and order in the state.

They posited that the Amotekun corps would be a community policing body that would complement the work of other security agencies in the state.

The lawmaker stated that Amotekun would curb criminal activities such as kidnapping, robbery, cultism and terrorism.

  1. The Operators and staff of Amotekun must be serious and firm in dealing with criminals especially some tribe who believe they can never obey any law and want to test the will of Amotekun, they must not spare in dealing with them.

The Governor of Benue is serious with the Anti-grazing bill in Benue by arresting and ensure he prosecute offenders and seize their cow according to the law. Amotekun corps members must be serious with criminals especially the Fulani cattle headers who may want to test the will and capacity of Amotekun corps, remember the Miyetti Allah leaders had said they will not obey the law, so Amotekun corps must make sure that Fulani Cattle headers that violate the law are arrested and dealt with accordingly.

The governor must also ensure that they get them the needed approval to carry guns both Riffle and their Dane guns.

Well done Ogun state assembly as we expect more states to pass the bill as planned and let everybody or state start the implementation quickly.

  2. Only those who are 100% purely Yoruba blood should be employed by Amotekun. Those canvassing that people who have lived among the Yoruba for about 20 years can be employed are not sincere. Iba Gani Adams should please advise them on this so as to avoid a fatal irreparable mistake.
