Encomiums poured in torrents for renowned lawyer, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) on Friday as the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo; former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon; Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and other eminent personalities lauded his philanthropic activities at the dedication of the St Peter’s Anglican Church built by the lawyer in his home town, Ikere Ekiti.

According to a release signed by Olayinka Oyebode, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Fayemi, the Primate of the Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, who led other bishops at the dedication of the 1,600 capacity worship centre, decried what he termed as a decline in the fear of God among Christians in the country.

Attributing the lack of fear of God to the disappearance of the demonstration of the true power of God as witnessed in the early days of Christianity, Okoh said the fear of God was declining and the power in the name of Jesus was leaving the Christian fold, adding that If Christians must recover the power in the name of Jesus, they must fear God.

The Anglican Archbishop charged the congregation to be humble with whatever they might have acquired on earth and to always ascribe the glory to God.

Other dignitaries at the event were Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole; Governors of Ondo State, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN); Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, and Oyo State Governor Oluseyi Makinde.
