Railway project: Jibowu/Yaba Level Crossing to be shut

In line with the Nigerian Railway Modernization Project (Lagos-Ibadan section) with extension to Lagos Port at Apapa, the Lagos State Government will be closing down Jibowu Level Crossing on Friday, 21 February, 2020 by 6.00pm.

The closure will last till 12:00pm on Saturday for the installation of Level Crossing Rubber Panels, according to a Statement from the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation.

Motorists plying Jibowu level Crossing would be diverted to Ilupeju, Ogunmokun and Yaba Level crossing to ease the traffic flow along the corridor.

In a similar development, Yaba Level Crossing will be closed down on Saturday, 22nd February, 2020 till the next day from 8:00pm to 12:00pm. Motorists plying Yaba Level Crossing would be diverted to Ilupeju, Ogunmokun and Jibowu Level Crossing to access their desired destinations.

“Road users are advised to comply with the Traffic directions to minimize inconvenience in movement.

“The closure has been slated at this time, to ensure there is smooth and uninterrupted flow of work on the rail tracks.

“Lagos State Government is hereby appealing to residents of the State, especially motorists that ply these corridors to bear the pains, as the project is aimed at achieving a seamless multi modal transport system that will meet the transportation needs of a larger population,” the statement said.
