Tension in Ogun as SARS officer’s bullets hit 2

Dozens of Hausa traders took over the Olomore Market, Abeokuta on Thursday to protest the death of two of their colleagues during alleged shooting by operatives of the Special Anti – Robbery Squad, SARS.

The angry Hausa traders selling onions, pepper, tomatoes, yam and fruits, allegedly went violent, smashing objects, including the operational vehicle of the Ogun State-owned Television broadcasting station and many other properties in sight.

According to multiple sources who shared similar video footage from the scene of the incident, the SARS officials were said to have chased some youths suspected to be internet fraudsters also known as Yahoo Boys and fired at them when they ran into the midst of the traders, killing two traders.

The traders in Olomore market were soon joined by those from nearby Lafenwa market, who got wind of the shooting and took to the Lafenwa – Abeokuta – Lagos expressway, disrupting traffic flow.

One of the eyewitnesses, while recording the incident could be heard speaking in Yoruba language; “Olomore is a hot as Maiduguri right now!“Hausa people have gone furious!SARS have killed two of them.”
