Collation of results is in progress in Maiduguri in Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the collation was being conducted at the Independent National Election (INEC) office in the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council.

NAN reports that the exercise, presided over by INEC officials in the presence of party agents, election observers and journalists, was going smoothly.

Dr Usman Gadzama, the Returning Officer, Borno Central Senatorial District, said they have concluded collation in four of the 15 wards in the Maiduguri local government area.

Gadzama said that result from the remaining council areas were still coming in, adding that the exercise was being conducted simultaneously for the presidential and national assembly elections.

Also, Malam Adam Kasim, a Domestic Election Observer, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the collation exercise.
