Thousands of residents of Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on Saturday came out to cast their votes in the ongoing presidential and national assembly elections.

Security was tight at all the polling units. Party agents, election observer and journalists were also observed at the polling uits visited.

Our correspondent gathered from party agents and canvasser that with the situation on ground, the elections would be free and fair. “I am a canvasser for this election and I have been here before 7 am. With the situation on ground, INEC is ready for the elections. The security agents are standing by; the Civil Defence, the Police and others are here. Those who wants to take part in the exercise are here as well. We hope their will be no chaos. We learnt that accreditation will begin by 8am.
