Dalung: urges govt to stop spending on elite football

The tenure of the current board of the Kaduna State Football Association (FA) has been extended, following a decision reached at an extraordinary meeting of board members and relevant stakeholders.

The motion for the extension of the board’s tenure was moved by the Local Football Council Chairman of Kauru Local Government Area (LGA), Yakubu Shekari.

It was seconded by Ibrahim Musa, the Local Football Council Chairman of Birnin Gwari LGA.

Following the tenure extension, the State FA Chairman, Kashim Sherreeff, proposed June 1 for the election.

This was seconded by the Local Football Council Chairman of Kaduna North LGA, Abdulrazak Usman.

Meanwhile, the venue for the election still remained Kafanchan in the Southern Kaduna senatorial district.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the electoral committee members will be inaugurated in due course.

The Kaduna State Director of Sports, Yakubu Ibrahim, in his speech at the extraordinary meeting, commended the stakeholders for the outcome of the meeting.

He urged for the promotion of peace and unity among all stakeholders, saying only this could enhance the growth of sports in the state.
