The Jigawa State Hisbah Board says it has mobilised 1,483 personnel for Saturday’s General Elections in the state.

Mallam Ibrahim Dahiru, the Hisbah Commander in the state, announced this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Friday.

Dahiru said the personnel would join security agents in providing adequate security throughout the election period.

He added that they were also to assist in crowd and traffic control during the period.

The commander added that the personnel were advised to act professionally in the discharge of their duties during the exercise.

Dahiru further urged members of the public to obey rules, regulations and guidelines by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concerning the conduct of the elections.

”We also prayed that the elections begin and end peacefully and all residents are advised to behave in orderly manners during the exercise by respecting laws and orders throughout the elections period and beyond.
