As the nation gears towards the 2019 General Elections, Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi has appealed to political parties, security agencies and other stakeholders in the election to ensure that electorate in Lagos and other states of the country are allowed to carry out their civic responsibility in a peaceful atmosphere, devoid of any form of intimidation or harassment.

In a statement in Lagos by the Special Assistant on Public Affairs to the Elegushi, Tope Oyefeso, the Monarch said electioneering process was the most important part of democratic governance, as it vested the power to choose leaders on the electorate.

The Monarch equally enjoined the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to bring to bear, all the years of preparation for the election and ensure the election was credible, free, fair and acceptable by all.

Elegushi wished all Lagosians and Nigerians a peaceful process and prayed that the best candidates that would bring more development to the country would emerge.
