Eligibility suit: Fayemi floors Oni at Appeal Court

The Federal Appeal Court, Ado Ekiti Division, has dismissed the appeal filed by former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni, to challenge the eligibility of Governor Kayode Fayemi to contest the May 12, 2018 governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State.

In a unanimous decision on Tuesday, the three appellate court justices dismissed Oni’s appeal for lack of merit.

In the judgment delivered by Justice Emmanuel Agim, the Appeal Court held that Fayemi was validly nominated, having complied with the requirement of the constitution of Nigeria.

Punch reports that Justices Adamu Juaro and Abubakar Lamido, who concurred with the judgment, dismissed the appeal accordingly.
