A sitting House of Representatives, member, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, has alleged that the Federal Government under the leadership of President Mohammadu Buhari is planning to devalue the Nigerian currency to Foreign exchange rate in April.

Adebutu, who is also a governorship candidate under the Umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gave this disclosure while addressing stakeholders at a Town Hall meeting, organised by the factional party in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

At the Town Hall meeting addressed by the wife of the party’s presidential candidate, Hajia Titi Abubakar, the factional PDP candidate claimed that he had privileged information about the currency devaluation scheduled for April, saying that a dollar would be exchanged for N500 by April 2019.

“The most concerning thing on my mind everyday is Nigeria, how the country has suddenly become so unbearable for the people.

“I have been to almost all the villages in this state and I was surprised with the rate of hoodlums I see everywhere, even in the small inner villages where you don’t expect to see hoodlums, they come out in numbers.

“This thing I want to say, I want you to quote me, and if it does not happen, anytime you see me just call me a liar. Our APC led Federal government is planing to devalue Naira to N500 for $1 come April this year, are we going to allow this to happen to our Naira?

“Life becomes has become so hard on the people that most people can no longer afford their children’s school fees and we claim to fight corruption.

“Note, this year’s election should have direct impact on us all, are we going to continue to live a life where all our para-military heads are Hausa, where there is division of power but all in the hands of Fulanis who have nothing to offer but to kill innocent lives.? We deserve a better country, I am not a refugee, we live like refugee in our own land because of some herdsmen,” he lamented.

He, therefore, challenged the people to stand up for what was right, by voting out Buhari and vote for Atiku as he alone could return the lost glory of the country.
