The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in Bauchi has pledged to reduce poverty by boosting irrigatigation farming in the state if elected in 2019.

The State chairman of the party, Alhaji Shehu Barau made the pledge in an interview with newsmen on Saturday shortly after the flag-off of the party’s campaign activities in Bauchi.

He said boosting farming activities was paramount in reducing poverty in the state , which had a lot of farmers and favourable condition.

He said that the party would also address the challenges bedeviling the Education and Health sectors, as well as enhance youth empowerment.

According to him,the party will also give priority to job creation to foster development in all facets of human endeavours.

“We will ensure that farming activities are conducted twice a year to reduce poverty.

“The PRP gubernatorial candidate in the state (Prof. Muhammad Ali-Pate) is an expert in development and is well known world wide.

“The presidential candidate for PRP is President Muhammadu Buhari because of his stand on job creation, anti graft war war and revitalization of the agriculture sector.

The manifestos are same with our manifesto; he (Buhari) is supposed to be in PRP but found himself in All Progressives Congress,” said Barau.

Barau discribed the turn-out of people during the flag-off ceremony in Bauchi as impressive, adding that the masses had identified themselves with the party.
