Chief Dele Ajayi, Chairman, Ondo State Football Association, has urged Sunshine Stars FC of Akure to win all their matches in the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Ajayi, who made call in Akure on Sunday in a statement made available to newsmen, said that the directive would prevent unpleasant circumstances toward the end of the season.
While wishing the team a successful outing in the new football season, the chairman assured that the team would continue to enjoy the support of the state’s FA.
He urged the players and management to be aware that the season would be a short football season.
“Any early mistakes may be disastrous in the end; therefore, the need to run the race of a champion from the beginning till the end,” he said.
News Agency of Nigeria reports that Sunshine Stars FC would tackle Kwara United FC in their opening match of the 2018/2019 NPFL season.
The 2018/2019 League season kicks off on Sunday, Jan. 13, with matches slated for different stadia across the country in an abridged league format featuring 24 teams.
