The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised to assign the Ministry of Works to his deputy, Engr Noimot Salako when they assume office.
He made this promise while addressing his teeming supporters in Agbara area of Ado-Odo/Ota local government during his ward to ward campaign in the local government.
Abiodun promised a departure from the norm where governors make their deputies redundant in office.
He decried the appalling state of infrastructural development in the local government and he assured the people that their needs would be given prompt attention as soon as he is sworn in.
“I have gone round the major towns in your local government from Agbara to Lusada to Igbesa down to Ado-Odo here and I have seen the deplorable conditions of your roads. I can feel the agony of the residents of these areas and I want to assure you that we will address this condition immediately we are sworn in by the special grace of God.
“Let me also state categorically that my deputy who is a qualified civil engineer and daughter of this local government will oversee the Ministry of Works to ensure that all these deplorable roads are prioritized in our administration”.
Earlier, the Chief Imam of Ado-Odo, Alhaji Soliu Abanigbe, while praying for the succession of the governorship candidate at the poll, urged him not to be deceitful like his predecessors in his campaign promises.
Also at the local government area, thousands of Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members denounced their parties pledged their unflinching support to the governorship candidate.
They were consequently welcomed and received into the progressive fold by the gubernatorial candidate.
The defectors from ADP were led by the Ajiroba of Ado-Odo, High Chief Rahmon Ogunola while the PDP defectors members were led by the Akogun of Ado-Odo, High Chief Michael Adekunle.
